Shazia

Director

I have a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Benedictine University. I have worked as a Computer Programmer and Project Manager for various companies throughout my career. I am a mother of two, with both my kids being gifted. When my kids were growing up, I found that the process of finding a good, qualified tutor that was willing to work around my availability was like finding a needle in a haystack. I spent too many hours driving my kids all over just to get them the academic support that they needed. My goal is to provide great academic support to students and to make this process as effortless as possible for parents by providing highly qualified and mostly certified Illinois educators that love to tutor.

Carol

Tutor

My name is Carol, I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in mathematics. I tutor and teach Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Liberal Arts Math/Quantitative Reasoning, and SAT and ACT math preparation. Over the years I have worked with a diverse group of students and I have learned that there is no one-size-fits-all method of tutoring. So, I am patient, identify the student's needs, promote engagement, and tailor lessons to each students' strengths. I have learned that sometimes a student is missing one little skill that, if uncovered and worked with, can unlock that student’s ability to move forward. As a math tutor, I have found success in breaking down complex topics into smaller, more manageable pieces and then building on that understanding I work hard to understand how each student thinks; this helps me to design lessons that leave each student more confident and prepared than when they began.

I’ve led initiatives to improve early literacy outcomes, designed curriculum programs, and always prioritize helping every child feel seen, supported, and capable. As a mom of three amazing daughters, I know just how important it is to give children both structure and heart. I bring that same philosophy into tutoring: I create engaging, personalized learning experiences that meet each child where they are—and help them go further than they thought possible. I’m friendly, fun-loving, and fully committed to making learning a positive and empowering experience.
